Next Main Series Show "Doubt" Continues June 12-15

Our next main series show, Doubt, continues through June 15. The show was added to the 2013-14 main series season as a replacement for a cancelled April show. The drama by John Patrick Shanley won the 2005 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the Tony Award for Best Play. It was later turned into an Academy Award-nominated movie starring Meryl Streep and Philip Seymour Hoffman.

Evening performances (8 p.m.) are June 12, 13 and 14. Our final Sunday matinee performance (2:30 p.m.) is June 15. Reserved seat tickets are $18 for adults and senior citizens and $10 for students and children, although the subject matter may not be suitable for children. Season members may begin making reservations and purchasing additional tickets on Tuesday, May 27. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Tuesday, June 3.

Based upon a few circumstantial details and a lot of intuition, an ultra-stern nun and school principal, Sister Aloysius (Suzanne Wohleb) believes that one of the priests at the St. Nicholas Church and School (Jacob Duncan) has been molesting a student. Sister Aloysius recruits a young, naïve nun (Sarah Sanderford) to assist her in monitoring the suspicious yet charismatic priest. She also addresses her concerns to the student's mother (Crystal Pratt-White). By the end of the play, will the audience discover the truth about Father Flynn, or will there still be "doubt"?

The full title of the play is Doubt: A Parable. A parable is a brief story used to make a point or teach a lesson. It is similar to a fable, but more realistic: fables typically feature talking animals and magical events, whereas parables are stories about ordinary people in everyday situations.

The production staff includes Natasha Tolleson, director; Lori Honeycutt, stage manager; Dustin Ozment, technical director; Al Dobos, costume designer; Jesse Wyman, lighting designer; Alyssa Kerr, sound designer and Joseph Salas, properties.
