Auditions for Next Main Series Show October 28 & 29

Auditions for Dashing Through the Snow, the second main series production of the 2012-13 season, will take place on Sunday, October 28 and Monday, October 29 at 7:00 p.m. at TCT.

This hilarious Christmas comedy is from the writing team of Jessie Jones, Nicolas Hope and Jamie Wooten, who also wrote The Dixie Swim Club and Dearly Beloved. The play centers on a tiny town in Tinsel, Texas and a colorful parade of eccentric guests at the Snowflake Inn four days before Christmas.

A variety of roles are available for adult men and women at several age levels. Performances will occur November 30, December 1-2 and 6-9, 2012. Specific information about the rehearsal schedule will be addressed during the audition process. Readings will be from the scripts. Actors wishing to check out a script in advance may do so with a $10.00 refundable cash only deposit through the Box Office beginning October 16.

Guest Director for Dashing Through the Snow will be Jenny MacMurdo Holcombe. Jenny received an MFA in directing from Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SIUC), and most recently finished her second year as Artistic Director of McLeod Summer Playhouse.

Directing credits include Seussical the Musical and The Sound of Music (at The Rose Theater in Omaha, Nebraska) and Steel Magnolias, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, The Wizard of Oz and Little Women the Musical (for McLeod Summer Playhouse in Carbondale, Illinois).

In Boston, Jenny workshopped and directed new playwright Jon Myers’s plays The Little Red Hen and Progress. While teaching as a lecturer in performance at SIUC her credits included Everywhere You Look, Company!, In the Continuum, The Old Maid & the Thief, A Hand of Bridge, 4.48 Psychosis, Biloxi Blues, Medea and Meditation in Consonants.
