First 2012-13 Main Series Show Continues Oct. 25-28

Over the River and Through the Woods, the first main-series production of the 2012-13 season, continues performances October 25-28. Evening performances (8 p.m.) will be October 25, 26 and 27. Sunday matinee (2:30 p.m.) will be October 28.

Reserved seat tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for students. Season members may begin making reservations and buying additional tickets on Tuesday, October 9. Sales to the general public begin a week later, on Tuesday, October 16.

Joe DiPietro's play focuses on Nick (Jacob Duncan), an Italian Catholic who lives in New York City. Both his father's parents, Nunzio and Emma (Buzz Rahm and Vicki Von Boeckman) and his mother's parents, Frank and Aida (Alan Mathis and Rosemary Mathis) live close to each other in New Jersey. Nick's parents and his only sibling have moved to Florida and California, and Nick, as a dutiful and loving grandson, goes to his maternal grandparents for Sunday dinner every week.

Then Nick receives a promotion which requires him to move to Seattle. The play revolves around Nick's announcement, his grandparents' reaction, and how that affects his ultimate decision.

At one point in the play, the grandparents invite Caitlin (Kelly Herremans), the daughter of Emma's canasta partner, for Sunday dinner in hopes that she and Nick will fall in love at first sight and therefore he won't move away.

The production staff includes Leon Perkins, guest director; Dustin Ozment, technical director; Jo Elwood and Michael Fox, stage managers; JoDean Smith, assistant stage manager and costumes; Hal Henry, props master; and Jennifer Murphy, dresser.
