Joe Keller (Sam Wilds), a successful businessman, lives comfortably with his wife, Kate (Suzanne Wohleb), and son, Chris, in a suburban American neighborhood. The couple mourns the loss of their other son, Larry, who went missing in World War II three years ago. Kate still clings to the hope that her son is alive. Chris (Prescott Hersey) wants to propose to his brother's former fiancée, Ann (Marissa Hunt).

Ann's older brother, George (Daniel Bodhi Chapin), who is a lawyer, comes to the Keller home to discuss their father Steve, Joe's former business partner who is in prison. George's love interest before the war, Lydia Lubey (Sarah Hustus) and her husband and astrologist, Frank (Alex Clardy) are neighbors to the Kellers.

Other neighbors are Dr. Jim Bayliss (Chris Wohleb) and his wife Sue (Rebecca Johnson). Bert (Pierce Parker) is a young boy that lives nearby.

The production staff includes Leon Perkins, director; Dustin Ozment, technical director; Lori Honeycutt, stage manager, and Tanya McMillan, hair and make-up. If you are interested in volunteering for the production staff, please contact the theatre.

In 1987, a made-for-TV version of the play starred James Whitmore as Joe Keller, Aidan Quinn as Chris, Michael Learned as Kate and Joan Allen as Ann Deever. The play was last performed at TCT in 1971.
